Carlos Salazar based in Minneapolis Minnesota, is a first generation latino, emerging fashion designer. At just 21 years old Carlos is debuting a Graduation collection of 4 looks, all made from sketch to garments. After college Salazar hopes to open an online store with ready to wear garments and accessories. During his time at Minneapolis college Carlos became more fond of drag queens and the cinema, he hopes to be a costume designer and further his education at The Fashion Institute of Technology in New York.

Draping was used for most of the garments, Carlos learned how to drape from the Fashion Design Technologies program at Minneapolis college located in Downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Collection Overview

In the summer of 2025 Carlos visited Mexico where his parents grew up, after not visiting for almost a decade he didn't want to leave but as he scrolled through his camera roll and grew inspiration from flowers he saw on his trip. Salazar explained that he also drew inspiration from listening to Bolero music from Eydie Gorme, and music from Kali Uchis Red Moon in Venus Album, he also says he was influenced by the intricate designs from Wicked by costume designer Paul Tazewell.
As an emerging designer Carlos plans on using natural fibers for his garments, for most of Salazar's S/S27 Reborn collection he used textiles like wool, linen, silks, and polyester.
When trying to find the perfect textiles Carlos found most from Mood Fabrics and local fabric shop SR Harris located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota.
